We're the fastest growing sourcing platform backed by YCombinator and are looking to hire a business development director that focuses on the merchandising and retail industry. Ideally, you are currently a top performing business development rep at a company selling all sorts of promotional products or work for a trading company that helps others manufacture products. Our primary focus in the past has been on ecommerce. Your goal will be focused on opening up the merchandising and retail industry to the factory direct approach Sourcify creates. What sets us apart in this industry is that we’re transparent and fueled by software. The companies that work with us actually know what’s going on in a production run, understand their unit costs, and the factories that produce their products. We add transparency and visualization whereas other companies still use email/ excel to manager production runs and often upsell these products by 20-100+ percent. This will be a good opportunity for you if you want to disrupt the merchandising and retail industry by enabling companies to manufacture directly. You aspire to be on the ground floor of a company that is growing by over 300% a year. You want to build the initial sales systems, sales processes, and find the biggest deals in company history. As our first business development hire, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our CEO to tighten the sales systems/strategy, document the sales process, and help grow the sales organization. Responsibilities: *Know how to open new accounts and close deals with a proven track record in the merchandising or retail industry *Consistently achieve and exceed monthly qualified meeting and opportunity targets * Work collaboratively with operations and marketing teams to refine our messaging and value proposition while identifying target verticals/segments. Must Haves: *Desire, drive and will to be successful and create a long-term career in sales with the goal of becoming a VP of Sales *Action oriented - you don’t wait for the world to move, you make it happen. *Commitment - this won't be a 9 to 5, nor do you want it to be as you know great companies require amazing talent and dedication to grow Nice To Haves: *A demonstrable track record in the merchandising, sourcing, or retail industry *3-8 years of sales experience, preferably working at a big promotional, merchandising, or trading company *Tech-savvy and an ability to quickly learn new technology *Experience working within environments where data is important *Experience building long-term relationships with senior executives *Familiarity with CRM systems like Hubspot *Experience working with virtual assistants to prospect new leads Our Commitment: We are small but dedicated team changing the way people manufacture products around the world.
